On June 20, 2023, CityU SCOPE and Beacon signed a letter of intent at the CityU SCOPE Tsim Sha Tsui East Learning Centre to jointly support the DSE Mock Examination Program organized by Beacon. The program aims to assist Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) students, who perform well in Beacon’s DSE mock exams and meet the admission requirements for CityU SCOPE’s International Foundation Diploma or three-year UK Honours Bachelor’s degree programs, to receive conditional admission to the corresponding courses.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ng, Assistant Director of CityU SCOPE, and Mr. Choi, Deputy Chief Excutive Officer of Beacon. Dr. Ng stated that the teaching philosophies of both institutions are aligned, with a shared commitment to providing continuous education services to students. Mr. Choi believed that this collaboration will provide another pathway for candidates taking the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education examination, helping them to plan their academic direction in advance. The representatives of both parties also introduced the main objectives of the collaboration plan and the benefits that students will receive to those present at the event.

The collaboration between Beacon and CityU SCOPE aims to provide students with more opportunities to further develop their academic and professional abilities. After participating in Beacon’s DSE mock exams, students who meet CityU SCOPE’s admission requirements and demonstrate outstanding performance will have the opportunity to receive conditional admission to the corresponding courses. In addition to benefiting Hong Kong students, this program also covers Hong Kong students residing in mainland China. This collaboration will help students better prepare for the future and provide them with more opportunities for higher education and career development.
